Hello and happy Monday. This will be a small post with just a few photos from my phone. We had a wonderful long weekend. I actually used my real camera over the weekend, but haven't looked at the photos yet. Friday was spent on some house projects and we love all that we have gotten done so far.
We had our house decorated for the 4th.
I know these plants need to be trimmed and that is on our agenda for tonight.
On Saturday the 4th we all went down to my sister's house for a BBQ and swimming. It's always a good time when we all get together and we had so many laughs. Here's just a selfie stick photo of me and my sister all sunburnt. Love the selfie stick shadow on our face. We are real professionals!
Finished two scarves. One in this pretty eggplant color and another in a black and grey combo in a cool pattern.
Hello....we are in the middle of seriously purging around our house. Robert wants to move his room to a larger room and we are moving our office to his room. His new room is bigger, brighter and will be better for him to study and just have better lighting. So we started on that yesterday switching closets. I cannot believe how much crap we have in our closets. Our trash and recycle bins are stuffed and pick up is tomorrow (great timing). Now we need to paint his new room and I'm going to a basic light color called Swiss Coffee. I must be nuts doing this two weeks before vacation.
While cleaning the closets I came across these x-ray cd's from all of Robert's football injury's. Fractured leg, shoulder issues and ankle. Glad those are in the past.
Also found this cup that I would drink out of at my Grandmom's house when I was a little girl. She saved it for me and I just can't throw it away. Of course I would never let anyone use it. It's probably not safe to drink out of. I called it my "Donald cup".
We are also having a backsplash installed in our kitchen next weekend and it will look like this.
Also hosting a PoKeNo game night next weekend in the midst of getting this backsplash installed. Hopefully that will be done before and I can get everything cleaned up in time.
Everyday I have been working on a little organizing of something around the house. This was one of my projects from this week. I was tired of seeing my necklaces laying on my dresser. They now have a new home on the back of one of our closet doors. I only hung up the ones I actually wear and got rid of everything else. There is plenty of room to add more necklaces on the hooks.
And lastly....a share of one of my current favorite yogurts. I only eat one of these about once a week because they are a little more in calories for a snack, but this one is very good!
Looking forward to a fun Fourth of July and a long three day weekend. Will be back tomorrow with some of my July 4th décor.
Last day of June. Can't believe how fast this month flew by.
My dad had a birthday.
I learned how to knit and have made 7 scarves so far.
We had a about six good size bunches of grapes for the first time from our grape vine and they were delicious.
Had our two tall palm trees shaved (huge and messy job).
Booked a cruise for next year.
Have had a few monsoon storms.
July should be a good month too. We have a couple of group game nights with friends planned. July 4th weekend celebration. Vacation trip to California. Two bedroom redos and adding a back splash to our kitchen.
Excited for the new TV series to start tonight called Scream. It's based off the movie Scream. Scream is one of my favorite horror movies. Hope the TV show is good.
Another weekend has gone by (much too fast). Had a great weekend. Our monsoon storms are here and each night we never know if we will get hit. I love monsoon storms. I always have since I was a kid. We didn't get any rain this past weekend just a lot of wind and blowing dust.
We had the most amazing sunset Saturday night. This photo is horrible on my phone, but it really was gorgeous.
Finished another scarf I had started last weekend. I was so busy last week I couldn't work on it until last night. I love the fall colors.
I am now working on a really pretty deep purple (eggplant) scarf. I bought some yarn at Hobby Lobby last week and I really like it. It's a big skein and the yarn is really nice quality (in my opinion). They have a huge selection of colors too. I'll share it when it's done.
Went to a Tastefully Simple party Saturday afternoon. Omg...yum! There stuff is awesome! I ordered tons and I had to book a party for myself for August 1st.
Tonight we are meeting friends for dinner and then back to their house to hang out for a bit.
This week has been nice and relaxing so far. Dave and I have been watching a couple of our favorite shows that are back on TV. I finished another scarf and added fringe for the first time. I'm gonna meet a good friend for dinner tomorrow night and give this one to her.
I'm finishing up my first (sports theme scarf). This one is the San Francisco 49ers (my favorite team). I am going to make a bunch of football team related colors.
Last night I couldn't find Sky. I could hear her, but couldn't find her. I finally saw her hiding in our TV console. She was just sitting there having fun.
We had a great Father's Day. I had my parents over and Dave was able to get off a little early from work. I re-did my dad's baby/childhood album that his mother made for him many years ago. All the photos were in those old pull back albums and the photos weren't going to make it if they weren't removed soon. He really liked it.
Dave received some gift cards and him and Robert are going to the shooting range tomorrow.
I made Dave his favorite meal and I'm going to take him to see Jurassic World this week.
Aren't these the cutest pretzels? I'm for sure making these for July 4th and for my bunco snack next month. Found these from The 36th Ave. Love this website! Great recipes, gift ideas and holiday ideas.
Today is supposed to be the hottest day yet reaching 115 degrees. This weekend we are just relaxing. We are hosting Father's Day. Looking forward to a nice family day and playing some serious games of Phase 10.
Well at least this is what I do. STAY INSIDE! We had our hottest day yet this year and it's not even technically summer until this Sunday.
It was 113 degrees when I got off work yesterday.
Since it is so flippin hot I've been making another scarf. I've completed my second scarf and am working on my third. This one is bright pink. Now I'm making one that is pink camo for a friend who has a loved one serving in the Army. I'll share when it's finished. Hoping to work on it tonight. This is a bad pic. The scarf is a pretty bright pink
Last night we had bunco and I had a lucky night! Or so I thought....I had 16 wins and two buncos. I thought for sure I'd have most wins, but someone had 18 and beat me. However, I still won most buncos in a roll off and won $25.00.
