Since Robert will be starting college soon and living on campus, he wanted to stop working at Culver's since the hours are long. He applied for a few jobs on campus and he had an intervew and was hired on the spot with Parking and Transit. He's excited! They only hire students and work around their schedules and are very flexible with their studies. We went out to dinner at Olive Garden (Robert's favorite place) to celebrate. We all shared this dessert after dinner. I'm not really a chocolate eater, but this was so good!
The night before the 4th of July we had a huge monsoon storm. It was so needed after not having rain for over 120 something days. Since that day we have huge storm clouds almost nightly and haven't had any rain. It looks like it's about to hit hard and then nothing comes.
We planted a bunch of sunflowers in our backyard and have been waiting for them to bloom. I was so excited to finally see this one bloom and then started to laugh. It's either defective or not done blooming. Hopefully tomorrow it will look better.
On Saturday we had about 14 people in our group get together for Pokeno night. I forgot to take pictures. I won the coolest gift. It's a Mason Jar solar light. You can find them at Home Depot.
That's about it. We have just a couple more things to pick up for Robert's dorm. Next week we are working on getting all his books and parking pass.
Robert has six weeks from this past Sunday until he moves into his dorms at ASU West. He's doing the Early Start Program and is moving in two weeks before actual classes start. Here's what his dorm looks like.
It's a pretty nice layout and the dorms aren't that old. He'll have his own full size closet and sleeping area, his own sink and medicine cabinet. The room comes with a fridge and microwave too. Also the dorms have a free laundry facility for their use and a full size kitchen that they can cook in.
I've started to shop for all his bedding. As long as it's black or grey he's happy. Girl stuff is so much more fun. I'm sure there will be things he will need that I can't even think of so I'm happy he won't be far from home to get stuff as needed.
I'm getting sad just thinking about him leaving. :(
It's HOT here in Arizona and we have stayed inside all weekend. Decided to make a batch of Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins yesterday morning with a patriotic display. Pumpkin is good anytime of the year in my book!
